This week, the children have been busy completing a range of SATs practice papers and should be very proud of the effort, determination, and resilience they have shown throughout the week.
In Science, the class carried out an exciting investigation into friction. The children explored how different surfaces affect movement by testing a variety of materials and areas around the school, including the playground, grass, carpet, and tables. They enjoyed making predictions, carrying out fair tests, and discussing their results.
During French lessons, the children continued to develop their language skills by practising food and drink vocabulary. They worked hard on pronunciation and enjoyed learning new words and phrases through a range of speaking and listening activities.
To finish the week, the children took advantage of the beautiful sunny weather by completing some outdoor Art work. Inspired by nature, they carefully sketched birds and feathers before using watercolours to add detail and colour to their artwork. The children showed great creativity and produced some lovely pieces that they were very proud of.

The class had a great first week back after Easter! The children had their Forest School session on Wednesday, where they made a fire, roasted marshmallows, and learned a few new skills, including cutting wood.
They have started a new English book called The Incredible Edibles: A Science-Flavoured Cookbook. They began by writing a set of instructions and then explored the features of instructional writing. The children also finished the fractions, percentages, and decimals unit this week and are now ready to begin the ratio unit next. They ended the week on a lovely note by exploring AI solutions in computing and drawing birds from secondary observation!
